Baptized for this moment

Today begins the celebration of Lutheran Schools Week.  It's a great opportunity to teach our students about the life-giving gift of Baptism and the ongoing blessings we receive through this means of grace.

As a high school English teacher I spend time discussing the difference between present tense and past tense verbs.  Tom Baker explains the crucial difference past tense and present tense has on our understanding of baptism.  Listen to this audio excerpt from his interview on Issues, Etc.

God’s Own Child, I Gladly Say It

Verse One
God’s own child, I gladly say it: I am baptized into Christ!
He, because I could not pay it, gave my full redemption price.
Do I need earth’s treasures many?  I have one worth more than any
That brought me salvation free, Lasting to eternity!

When I originally left a comment I appear to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added-
checkbox and from now on each time a comment is added I get four emails
with the same comment. Is there a means you are able to remove me from that service?

Thanks!
