Caption Contest!

So I lied. This isn't a caption contest. It's a desperate attempt to find some healing for my back. It's been over one year and I can say it's the same: aching pain that resonates in my lower back. Yes, I've had an MRI and no abnormality was found. Yes, I"ve been to a chiropractor and still nothing. Yes, I've had X-rays and still nothing. I've stretched, exercised and refrained from riding. In fact, I have been away from the bike this long for some time. Ugh!

So in place of the caption contest - this week's contest offers a little twist. I'd chuckle at that literary quip but it hurts to laugh. The twist is to share the best remedy that will cure my pain and allow me to ride again.

Well, thing one, find a better doctor. Thing two, there's always Jesus. After all, he did heal several cripples, among other things, like procuring our salvation.

I think you should give the chiropractor more time. I know, being patient stinks, but consider this: my mom got in a serious car accident 5 years ago and she herniated a disc in her neck. She felt pain every time she turned her head and wasn't able to play soccer. This was extremely frustrating for her, and I can imagine you feel the same way about biking.
It took about 2 or 3 years, but with consistant chiropractic work she now has no neck pain whatsoe'er. I'm sure the chiropractor can help you as well (they know what they're talking about), so give it some time.

(oh, also, ask your chiropractor about vitamins and cherry juice)

7To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

So what I hear you cryptically saying is...that I won't win the Tour de France anytime soon?

Not without some serious EPO, some 3 in 1 oil and some gauze pads.

This is Mr. Felten by the way. I wasn't trying to be secretive, I just don't have one of your fancy blogger names.

Hey Mr. Brandt! I love the blog page. grasping at anything to stay young huh?! Just Kidding!
Well my dad had pain in the lower end of his back also, but he had to get surgery done on it. He also went to a chiropractor, but after having his back cracked for what seemed like forever he was told that the cracking of the lower back actually makes the symptoms and the pain worse and it should not even be done. My advice to you is ice it after cycling, also if you ever get those icy hots from rite aid they are good to wear throughout the day so that your back is ready to endure your training. Another thing that could work is Physical Therapy to get your lower back and its muscles stronger. Hope this was a little bit of help! Good Luck!
