Nearing the End

Summer is drawing to a close. You won't hear me whining about its end because how many people get this much time off. This could have been one of the most laid back summers I have ever experienced. I logged time in the pool, some time on the bike, some time Up North and some time visiting colleges with my son.
If you think pulling that old man, who will never sit at the front, at Stoney Creek around all day makes you feel old, then you need to take your son on college visits. It's the quickest way to feeling old physically and financially. The Lord knows where he will attend, I simply wish he would let me in on the plan.
Meetings begin August 15 and then I participate in my civil duty and attend jury duty on August 17. It's one meeting for another and I'll take it.
Summer time. Pattern of life indelible.
It will soon be time to get back to the world of essays, teaching writing, teaching thinking, laughing at and with the young ones.
All of that will be just fine with me.
