I didn't attend The Brothers of John the Steadfast conference this past weekend, but I'm glad the speakers' messages were recorded. Rev. Fisk proffers an insightful message about why it's important to understand Lutheranism, have pride in Lutheranism and teach why Lutheranism, through the work of the Holy Spirit, makes an earthly and heavenly difference.
He begins with the importance of what the conjunction, but, means in the sentence, "I'm a lifelong Lutheran, but..."
Give it a listen and let me know what you think.
I also encourage you to listen to Rev. Hans Fiene's sermon given at Bethany Lutheran Church in Naperville, Illinois at the Evening prayer service.
