Go Blue! Go Parking! Go Burgers!

Last year I experienced the Appalachian State nightmare. The stadium was stunned and packs of Wolverines wandered aimlessly about too sullen, too shocked, too lugubrious to find their vehicles. Post game tailgating lacked sizzle. Burnt, charred bits of a National Title were the only remnants on the grill.
This year was a bit different. New team. New coach. New quarterback(s). Similar struggles. A struggling win over Miami (Ohio) was at least a win. At this point last year the Wolverines were 0-2. Life is better....I guess.
However, the balm that soothed my frail hopes for a successful season was not only the prime parking space I acquired but also the friendly conversation with two LHN graduates: Chuck "Iron Chef" Irvin and Andrew "Blogger-No-More" Fluegge. Andrew told me about the inexpensive parking space and Chuck offered me a post-game burger. I declined the latter. It wasn't that I didn't trust Chuck, I'm just not sure I wanted to eat cow flesh so soon after a victory.
Blog Preview for this week:
I'm speaking at St. Peter Macomb's Women Ministry meeting on Thursday, September 11. The theme is "Teach Me Thy Way". Hmmmmmmmm, that can only mean explaining the connection between my grandfather's 9.5 boot, the kitchen knife, feeding of the 5,000, Word and sacrament. I'll post my presentation later this week.
The first home football game is Friday so there may be some Caption of the Week opportunities arriving at a blog near you.
Until then,

Tootles

I'm looking forward to the presentation. Not so sure how the boot and knife fit in with Word and Sacrament, but knowing you, you'll make it work.

We were sitting in 10, row 51. They were great seats, void of vulgar drunks yelling at players/coaches 100 yards away. The weather was perfect.

I was wondering if you have called Guinness to get yourself in their record book for the smallest blog pictures ever posted?

Your photography skills deserve much better!

Sarcasm is better than silent lurking. Now if we can only shake AFlu out of literary hiding. That, however, is something even Houdini couldn't pull off. Unless, of course, he knows Andrew's password. Andrew, perhaps the magician guy from the Senior All-Night Party has your password stuck to the ceiling at Joe Dumars.

Abandoning the world of blogging. That should be the 11th Commandment.

Mr. Brandt, it was great to see you, but I hope you didn't quickly forget the conditional that will bring me back to the blogosphere. Until then...
